Road to Awaken 4.0 - Part Eight - Sounds? I Hear Sounds…
December 18th, 2007 at 6:12 PM • Posted in Awaken

First off - thanks for the love-hate comments on the background image for the Remote preferences. I’m still collecting feedback and will provide an update on this soon.

So - sounds in Awaken. We’ve had the built-in sounds for a while now. They’re great for things like an Egg Timer where you just need a chime or an alternative to iTunes playback.

In Awaken 4 we’re expanding the sound options to allow you to add any sound file (mp3, aiff, m4a, etc) on your system to Awaken’s repository of sound choices.

You can even add songs from your iTunes library and have Awaken play them back without using iTunes. Speaking of iTunes - if you’re using Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard you will notice in the video below that a searchable interface for your iTunes library is presented in the file chooser. You can still also browse any folder on your hard-drive of course.

Now onto the feature presentation (as an added bonus - this one has audio):

Road to Awaken 4.0 - Part Seven - What’s Your Preference?

Just a day since the last post and we have some new stuff to show. Below is a video guide of the Awaken 4 preferences. Please take a look at the preferences and let us know if there is something missing that you would like to see. Now is the time to speak up!

Road to Awaken 4.0 - Part Six - Registration
December 16th, 2007 at 7:59 PM • Posted in Awaken

Before I get into what’s new in this post I would like to let everyone know how you can follow the Awaken 4 development:

Today we just finished up the reworking of the registration process. As you may know - Awaken is available as a free 14 day trial and available for purchase for $12.95. When you purchase Awaken, your registration is valid for all future versions of Awaken (ex: Purchase Awaken 3 and update to Awaken 4 for free when it is available). If you exceed the 14 day trial without purchasing, your existing alarms will continue to work, you just won’t be able to add or edit existing alarms. This prevents you from missing an alarm if you forget to purchase on time.

The video below demonstrates what happens when the 14-day trial is up and the registration process.

Stay tuned for more! As always - your comments are welcomed!

PS: All Awaken 4 blog posts with video have been updated to play in FireFox correctly.
