What have we been doing since last time?
Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Hi everyone, I just thought I’d give you an update on what we’ve been doing since the last blog post.

We’ve been super busy on Awaken 5 and plan on having it at the public beta stage in September (which is close).

We have also been addressing any problems with Awaken 4 while we work on version 5. Over the past month 5 updates to Awaken 4 have been pushed out (Awaken 4.0.12-4.0.16) and we have been paying a lot of attention to your emails.

In the middle of all that we’ve been excited to be accepted into the iPhone developer program. In the works is a game engine which will power a series of adventure/RPG games we have planned for the iPhone and iPod touch. Much more info on those projects once Awaken 5 for Mac has been released.

Hey - what about Awaken on the iPhone? We get that a lot and at the moment the required hooks to make Awaken on the iPhone possible do not exist in the iPhone SDK. One obstacle is the lack of support for background applications and the other is the inability to access the music stored on your iPhone. If either of those facts change in the future we will be onboard.

So to summarize, Awaken 5 is coming in September, up until that time you’ll see updates coming to Awaken 4 to address any reported issues, and after Awaken 5 you’ll see us on the iPhone creating some great games.

As stated before, Awaken 5 will be a free update for anyone who has purchased any version of Awaken - including from any promotion like MacHeist or the MacUpdate Promo.
