Awaken 3.1.2 includes a fix for non-iTunes alarms which prevents a crash bug. Please update to the latest version.

Beta Sunday turns into release Sunday? We have Awaken 3.1.1 ready for download. It addresses each of the bugs sent in to us.

Here is a listing of the changes:

• Playlist listing organized.
• Bug fixed where Podcast would not play.
• Bug fixed with Apple Remote.
• Bug fixed with Sleep Timer countdown.
• Bug fixed where iTunes music would not play.
• Bug fixed for cases where iTunes is not installed.
• Bug fixed for alarm creation at midnight.

PS> We are working on adding more languages to Awaken. As of now it has been an English only app. We plan on adding languages on a regular basis starting this month.

Awaken has included a menubar extra (AwakenHelper.app) for awhile now. When enabled you can close Awaken and it handles openning Awaken for you at alarm time. It also provides quick access to see the next alarm time. I wanted to let you know that we are working on adding more functionality to that menubar extra to make it more useful. We’re going to enhance it by allowing it to serve as an iTunes controller which can you use at anytime with a single click. Here is a before/after shot of this idea:
