Here we take a look at some of the additional UI changes coming in Awaken 2.7. As seen earlier on the blog, Awaken 2.7 sports the UI style of iTunes 7.
You can now drag entries in the alarm listing to have them display in any order that you like. Up until now alarms were only displayed in the order they were created.
A new button has been added to the bottom of the application which allows you toggle the display of the alarm listing - offering a more compact view.
The clock background was updated with some more transparency than last weeks post as well as some tweaks with the color.
Notice anything else different in the shadows?

The shadow kinda fades in and out when the window is activated or deactivated.
Pretty neat - haven’t seen that before….

The shadow animation is a nice touch. I noticed Disco has it too… your idea or theirs?
Can’t wait for the release. The emergency alarm will be a lifesaver, expessially since iTunes sometimes refuses to open with my ipod attached.

Thanks Dylan. So about the shadow fading - it’s cool that you noticed this in Disco. Long story - but here is the short version. Both Awaken 2.7 and Disco make use of a custom window UI - meaning you have to build it from scratch. Austin (Disco developer) and I ran into a common problem at the same time regarding the coding for the active/inactive shadow states. Once we found out how to build the shadows from scratch we had the flexibility of playing with some of the parameters, and from that - the idea of the shadow fading was born. Enjoy
PS> I’ll be posting another blog entry in the next day or so and shortly after that the Awaken 2.7 beta will be ready for everyone to download.
